The missing link between ANTI SYSTEMs classic final '80s recordings and the comeback "AT WHAT PRICE IS FREEDOM" EP we released in 2017 - the collected recordings of MINDFIELD from 1994-95, available commercially for the first time ever!!
In the mid 90's 3/5ths of the Anti-System line up (Mark Teale, Phil Dean and Mick Teale), that recorded the classic No Laughing Matter LP teamed up with Paul Stone (fresh from his time in NAILBOMB UK) and were busy trying to forge something new for themselves.
MINDFIELD was a band built on some serious ideas of merging their collective influences and creating something new and raging. They were throwing Discharge, Antisect, Slayer, New York Hardcore, Ministry, LARD and even Hawkwind into their riff blender and the results were pretty special.
They had serious interest at the time from some decent labels and the support of people like Ian Glasper who wrote a great 2 page interview in Terrorizer on the band - but the wheels fell off due to circumstances as these things do.
These recordings represent the only things recorded by the ANTI SYSTEM members between those two eras of the band, and its great to make these original three demo recordings available for the first time commercially as part of the Boss Tuneage Retro Series, with all tracks being remastered for this release.
