They were part of the scene that gave us bands like Stigmathe, No Jap, Hydra, Dioxina, Cani, Raw Power, Nabat, Mitropank, Stalag 17, RAF Punk,… In 1983 they debuted on vinyl with Nati Per Soffrire 7? but even before that they recorded the first demo tape with great songs that never came out elsewhere: Anarchia Unica Via, Marionette, Milioni Di Morti, Smog, Italia Brava Gente, Spacciatori, Sotto Shock, Mondo Irreale,…
Political punk verging on hardcore tinged with dark overtones, both musically and lyrically. Very critical, almost apocalyptic lyrics about the society. Their music influences seem to merge early UK 82 stuff with Italian HC/Punk of the time as well as 80s Finnish HC, although not as fast as most of their Scandinavian counterparts. If you liked the recent Link Lärm LP on No Plan records, this could be something for you as well.

Black Easter "Ready To Rot" 7" £7.00 - Black Easter formed in 1982 in Farnborough, Hampshire, they released a couple of demos and a live cassette and supported a few name bands (Subhumans, Flux Of Pink Indians to name a couple) but they didn't cause too many ripples in the punk rock pond. They did however find their way onto the excellent Killed By Death #5 compilation and it's that song I'm posting today. It was originally on their Ready To Rot ep, which saw the light of day in 1982.

Like their fellow countrymen SELFISH, the influence of BURNING SPIRITS HARDCORE can be strongly felt here. The sound production is as great as ever and various evolutions are sprinkled across the songs with no end to the stylistic beauty of the music.
